@MLSist Been watching the league since 96 and this is one of the worst ideas. Too confusing and a lot of meh. Seems the owners will do anything but try and emulate the most successful leagues that fans enjoy watching and get invested in with all the fun and jeopardy that comes with it.
@CarefreeLewisG I was so happy when we ditched this guy, for only then to see him destroy my national team. USSF should get rid of him and get Jose in to give us a respectable World Cup.
@andrew_wiebe@Extratime When I moved to England, you guys were how I kept in touch with what was going on in the league. Also, I very much appreciated your mentions of other US leagues and love of the Open Cup. Will miss this pod!
@MLSMoves If there’s a complete calendar/season format/spending rules change, it could help but not fix. Watching the EPL/Euro leagues in the mornings has become so ingrained into US soccer fan culture that it’s hard to compete with people’s limited time they have to watch the sport
@ThatTimWalker Honestly, it’s been heading this direction for decades. People that wanted this sort of politics/economics for years are now finally getting it. If it’s a disaster for the working and middle class, then hopefully that ends the experiment of Heritage Foundation policies.
Americans looking to try a new life abroad, my advice (22 years living in the UK) is to be sure the culture of the country/region you’re looking to move to fits your personality. Politics always change in countries but the overall culture usually doesn’t. #movingabroad
@herculezg I was there today, and he’s definitely looking good but still made mistakes with his first touch in key moments with defenders harassing him. The Championship is still his level at the moment but it’s a high enough level where he can become a complete player before his next step.
@ThatTimWalker My guess is it’s not long now before he’s forced out. Although Harris would campaign well, I feel the new candidate needs to be someone removed from Biden’s administration to stand the best chance of winning.
@ManagerTactical He seems pretty settled here with his young family in the area I live in Norwich. (He’s quite visible in the community and a nice guy) My guess is he only leaves because the club need to raise funds, which is definitely possible given there’s a new owner and sporting director.
