@RefereeC21621 Nonsense. Totally accidental, both players going for the ball, just a tangle of legs. Absolutely no intent to endanger the opponent, just putting his foot somewhere and is not even looking at. This should never be a red card.
@MC_of_A@mad___online Great article, but I still don't really see, 1: why it's necessarily a problem, and 2: what realistic rule could be introduced to stop it.
As you mention in your article, it's a way for the less-skilled teams to make chances. And it's more exciting than death by 1000 passes
@MC_of_A@mad___online But you've always been able to do that and there haven't always been lots of goals from corners. You want forwards to have to move out of the goalkeeper's way so that he can catch the ball? Although the German in this case was looking at the keeper not the ball so it was a foul
Jordan’s striker completely ignored the manager’s game plan and told the whole team to press high instead…
Switzerland took one look at the chaos and scored with THREE passes 😭😅
@kucchizander@Arsenalnewschan No I don't know that, but I can't believe that Arteta would have let him take it if didn't think he was. He knows better than you
@kucchizander@Arsenalnewschan I was concerned about that as well. But they will have had their reasons - they're not stupid. Hindsight is a wonderful thing
@prodnose@FansAgainstVAR_ VAR is crap and I'd love to get rid of it completely, but this is never a penalty because it comes off his body first and then onto his arm. Clearly in the rules that this shouldn't be given
@henrywinter Only a technicality but Kvaretskhelia shouldn't have been on the pitch at that time as there was blood all running down his leg and it had been from before the corner was taken.
