This is the second Olympics in a row where USA have won the men's and women's 4x400m relays and not won the mixed 4x400m relay. Dunno why they insist on putting out a their C team in the mixed relays. You would think their athletes would want that chance at an Olympic gold medal.

@WorldAthletics @sebcoe - @DevonAllen13 had a reaction time of 0.101 seconds in the semi finals then 0.099 seconds in the final. It looks to me like he can on occasions legitimately react that fast and the 0.1 second false start threshold should be looked at.

@WorldAthletics is it possible that the starting blocks technology has gotten better over the years to the extent where it detects movement quicker than it did when you put the 0.1 seconds threshold into place? If so then is it worth reviewing that threshold?

@WorldAthletics reaction times vary from athlete to athlete. An athlete's reaction time is also going to vary from race to race. Surely it's worth re-investigating if their are some outlier athletes with fast reactions who at their best can legitimately react faster than 0.1 secs

@WorldAthletics fix the false start rule. A study you commissioned yourselves in 2009 recommended that the threshold get lowered to 0.08s. Why are we still seeing athletes getting DQ for reaction times that look extremely authentic?

A couple days ago I tweeted and wrote a blog post about how bad the false start rule is. Today the world leading athlete in his event this year gets disqualified from the 110m hurdles final by reacting 0.001 seconds faster than what is apparently deemed humanly possible by IAAF.
