Fantastic @auroraorchestra! Respect for performing from memory but it is the common energy and musical quality of the ensemble, that makes this short clip really fascinating. Have a great concert at @bbcproms
thankyou @Baerenreiter for tribute to two modest and great personalities, Norman and Jonathan Del Mar. #RajterArchiv contains a score of Beethoven IX presented & dedicated in 1997 to conductor Ludovit Rajter. In 1999 LR conducted his last 9th studying from that score.
Remembering conductor Norman Del Mar who would have been 99 today. He enjoyed Barenreiter editions and would have been proud to see the extent to which his son Jonathan has made a major contribution to our catalogue
Today we celebrate the life of Franz Liszt, who died on 31 July 1886.
Composer, teacher, Casanova, writer, pioneer, philanthropist, philosopher and one of the greatest pianists in history, Liszt was the very embodiment of the Romantic spirit https://t.co/xoglS90ox3

Probably final bars written by Mozart. How remarkable in this context the text, the harmonic progressions, the last word “vitam”, the subtle violin line leading to a single ´d´, a long fermata & sign for da capo of the fugue on Abraham’s ancient promise. #Nationalbibliothek#Wien

I just found this wonderful quote from Oliver Knussen in an old email:
"Schumann is quite merciless-- just as you're getting over having your heart broken by some incredible bit of harmony, he does it to you again in the very next phrase."
