Today I read some Kurt Vonnegut:
"What should young people do with their lives today? Many things, obviously.
But the most daring thing is to create stable communities in which the terrible disease of loneliness can be cured."
Then for some reason I thought of @NataliaGrey1#WCW
@providenceluvr Right - one major literary convert was Graham Greene, for crying out loud, whose works are very clearly suffused with spiritual conflict and this grappling with guilt.
The true stuff is not at all about hellfire sermons to scare you into behaving (and is that not more shame?)
my favorite lynch moment isnโt a film scene but a memo to the projectionists for mulholland drive. caps lock type juxtaposed with a gentle tone, visual illustration for clarity, perfect use of red, and a very saucy signature as the cherry on top. graphic design masterclass
@oldenoughtosay Deleted my answer after I saw this and realised I do in fact use different terms conversationally, ever since I learned there are many subgenres of logistics vehicles
Given he's aligned to trump with the anti-China rhetoric, I assume this new change is a desperate attempt to appeal to the PRC's leader's ego and protect business interests over there
Seems like musk is eyeing up the reform party over here, looking at how trump browbeat and bought up the republicans over there, and embodying the "lord i see what you have done for others" meme. Think he misjudges how much it is in fact just the farage party.
@weirdbr ...workers have the absolute right to an uninterrupted 24 hours off per week, and 48 hours per fortnight, but this being the UK it's not a legal requirement on the worker to take that...
@weirdbr The UK would let you choose to work like that, but it has to be 'optional', the employer can't impose it - and to be fair you'd have to pay out on accrued TOIL as part of any termination payment, though statutory redundancy minimums are low in the first place.
