@mattthr Hey Matt! Excellent question! There is no mechanic that directly inhibits a “boss” player from calling the shots, but in all of our playtesting, we haven’t seen it happen all that much. We think this is for two reasons... (1/11)
@mattthr ...All of the information to keep track of, and the fact that each player holds onto their own cards really make it difficult for one person to always know the best thing to do!... (11/11)
@mattthr ...Of course, the “boss” player is the thorn in the side of all co-op games, but the reason we think we haven’t seen them be a huge problem in Adrift, is because the game’s theme and message of surviving together... (10/11)

@mattthr ... because you never know what the sea is going to throw at you! So, there’s always room for players to strategize what to do. Do you play it safe and navigate this round because your next card could be a storm?... (5/11)
@mattthr ...(their health, and the weight and fish cost of each of their Action Cards) and the boat’s state too (how much fish and water the boat has left, and how close it is to sinking)... (3/11)
