The state continues to delay legal proceedings against the leadership of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC). Yesterday marked the first hearing of the bail applications filed in the High Court for Dr. Mahrang Baloch and other BYC leaders.
Despite the presence of legal counsel for the BYC leadership, Adv Jardin Dashti, Adv Ali Ahmed Kurd, Adv Afzal Harifal, Adv Ewaz Zehri, Adv Shoaib Mengal, Adv Changiz, Adv Khalid, Adv Israr, Adv Jalil Langove and Adv Nadia Baloch, who appeared in court and was fully entitled to argue the case, the same delaying tactics observed in previous hearings were once again employed. As a result, the court did not proceed with the hearing and postponed the matter.
The next hearing has been scheduled for December 17, further prolonging the process. These repeated delays raise serious concerns regarding fairness and due process and highlight how legal mechanisms are being used to suppress peaceful voices advocating for justice in Balochistan.

Security forces fired mortar rounds on a civilian home in Hoshab and five young girls were hit by the blasts. One of the girls later died from her injuries. This incident shows a pattern in which heavy weapons are used near populated areas with no regard for civilian life. The death of a child exposes a level of state violence that has become routine in Balochistan.
Enforced disappearances, custodial killings, raids on homes, and the repeated use of mortars in villages form a single structure of abuse. Families face loss, trauma, and fear. Communities live under pressure created by actions carried out with full impunity. Announced inquiries in past cases produced no punishment for those involved, and this record allows the same incidents to continue.
The death in Hoshab fits into a wider pattern that many in Balochistan describe as systematic genocide carried out under state protection. The continued use of force against civilians, including children, shows a complete collapse of accountability. We urge immediate international attention and demands an end to the violence inflicted on the Baloch population.

Follow up on FIR 654/2024 against @MahrangBaloch_. The case was fixed yesterday 3rd October for further arguments of APG opposing our application from acquittal. Please note that the case was originally fixed for Orders on the application for 19th Sept but on that day APG made request for time for further arguments.
Yesterday when the Learned ATC V inquired from APG what further arguments the prosecution wishes to submit the ATC V was informed that the Forensic Report shows that the videos submitted are unedited and original.
Upon which our simple query was that the FIR is against an alleged incident dated 11.10.2024 and there is no video of any speech made by Mahrang on that date as no speech was made and she was not even present at the alleged place of incident. We further argued Dr Mahrang cannot be tried for any speeches made before or after 11.10.2024 as she is already facing multiple FIRS for her protests and speeches and the instant case is only about what allegedly occurred on 11.10.2024.
When the ATC V inquired where is the USB which has the alleged video of speeches the Court was informed that the USB is lying in Punjab Forensic Lab upon which the ATC V was perplexed that how can a forensic report be sighted which contains no description of the video not any transcript of the alleged speech and the alleged videos itself are not even in custody of Police.
Upon this we submitted to the ATC that the prosecution is only seeking date to elongate the misery of Dr Mahrang by delaying disposal of the case.
Accordingly, the ATC V has now again fixed the matter for Orders on 10th Oct.
Let the world know: Dr. Mahrang Baloch deserves the Nobel Peace Prize.
It is time the world recognizes her.
