Today I completed one year as the Mayor of Kochi. It has been a year of covid, a bye-election and efforts to polictically destabilise. We have overcome all these. And I am satisfied with the our work for the people. Thanks for the support.
The Mayor will be with Kochi...always.
Visited Mango Meadows with my family today. It was a visually mesmerising treat. Luscious greenery and beautiful sculptures filled my heart and soul. This instigated my wish to restart the Padmasarovaram project, I wish to construct it during this council term.
Inaugurated a workshop conducted by ICLEI South Asia and C-HED. The workshop was on nature based solutions. Out of six nature based solutions Mangrove conservation and Pokkali cultivation was selected for our city. We want both development and ecological conservation.
The SupplyCo Christmas Market was inaugurated by Honourable Minister P Rajeev.I participated in the function and did the first sale.The Civil Supplies department was perfected by the Left government of 1987.We aim to deliver day to day provision at affordable rates for everyone.
The Health minister Veena George visited the Ernakulam General hospital today. An open heart surgery was conducted for the first time in a General hospital in India. She interacted with all the doctors present and listened to their grievances.
The CPIM District Conference concluded today. Com C.N Mohanan was re-elected as the CPIM Ernakulam District secretary. A committee of 46 members was formed.The public meeting was inaugurated by Kodiyeri Balakrishnan. The party will march forward with more vigour and direction.
DPR was presented in front of the Mayor, MLA, Collector and the KRFB engineers the last day. Everyone unanimously voiced a need for a flyover at Kathrikadavu. The current DPR will not contain a proposal for a flyover. The flyover proposal will be included in the next DPR.
Thammanam-Pullepady road has been given priority since the council came in power. It was even mentioned in the election manifesto. The notification for handing it over is in it's final stage.
Visited the Smart City construction at Comrade Ismuddin's Ward 3. I had reviewed it thrice previously. Chunkam Bridge has historical importance,as it marked the border of a nation. Saw the British paintings of Mattanchery at a teashop, a true hub of history and culture.
The convention was inaugurated by Polit Bureau member Comrade Pinarayi Vijayan. The next three days will be filled with discussions on a self critical mode to take the party forward organisation politically.

I participated in the felicitation ceremony of the volunteers of the Asha Kiranam program.Awareness and counseling for cancer patients are very important for our city.The Asha Kiranam initiative was started by Carithas.We plan on working along with such great initiatives.
I was selected for a UN fellowship. Selected Governors and Mayors from the Asia-Pacific region are awarded the fellowship. Asia-Pacific Mayor's Academy will give the training. Town-planning, sustainable development will be discussed. Due to Covid, training will be online.
The organizers who converted the barren land into a green haven, should be appreciated. HEAL (Health Environment Agriculture and Livelihood) also plans on turning Barren lands green . We plan on using the barren lands for agriculture.
Participated in the Harvest festival of Pazhur Padam at Kanjur.The event was organised by Kerala Karshaka Sangham,Rajagiri College of Social Sciences,Kanjur Cooperative Bank & Puthiya Mannu Farmers Organisation. It was refreshing to see the young minds actively take interest.
