Will tomorrow bring any Tax Audit extension? 🤔 No one knows yet. For now, 30 September remains the deadline unless CBDT announces otherwise. Let’s wait for the official word—while we continue our work. 📷 #TaxAudit#CA#Extendtaxauditduedate

Why ICAI has written it into the page 2 of the Representation last year ?
It must be presumed that it is the collective voice.
Please take a note on that.
A 60-day gap existed earlier because tax audit reports used to be filed manually by queuing up at the Department offices. Now, one can e-file from the comfort of one's office or home at any time during the day.
There is nothing mandatory in law to maintain the 60-day gap.
There is nothing in law to say that a tax auditor should begin his work only after the non-audit ITR due date. You can begin work on 1st April or even earlier if so arranged.
