AI data centers are an environmental horror. We don’t want them at all. There have been grassroots campaigns across the entire country with communities banding together to stop them from springing up.

We don’t want a bail out for AI companies, we don’t want tech execs who are creating permanent underclasses to continue doing so all with properties that don’t even belong to them. If the Democratic Party wants to sell out people’s livelihoods from beneath them, people are going to remember that.

I mean yeah we all know that, but this is terrifying to see. If the U.S. government has an ownership stake in all major AI companies, they have a vested interest in not having them collapse.

Genuinely, why are we excited for the government to give them an out? They’re teetering without external support and have to pay Martin Scorsese and whatever other legacy creators will take their paychecks to keep people thinking there’s no way to reverse it.

This is beautifully put, because it’s hard to convey that while you wouldn’t wish the work of coordinating and running a studio or agency on your worst enemy, there’s no feeling like overcoming the daily puzzles of it to make something strong & stable for your people and raising the bar.

Working in entertainment this long, you just find that there’s just a joy in making things better, helping other folks shine, and allowing people to create without fearing for stability. That’s the whole point of all the skills, and all the connections, and what all the work is for.
