This morning, our comrades returned to the Kawempe Magistrates Court for their bail hearing in the trumped up charge of ‘unlawful drilling’.
Even though these comrades have spent a lengthy time on remand and they now qualify for mandatory bail since the state prosecution has not concluded their investigations, the presiding Magistrate did not grant bail as expected.
The magistrate instead said that the defence team did not present anything substantial in their bail application to warrant a different verdict from the previous bail applications. The matter has been adjourned to 26th June 2026, which is another moment for the regime prosecutors to yet again abscond their duty of collecting evidence to back up their fabricated charges.
We are grateful to all comrades who have continued to exhibit solidarity with our jailed comrades and we believe that someday, the chains shall break free!

The Butambala Chief Magistrates’ Court presided by His worship Deogratias Ssejjemba has today adjourned the matter of our Deputy President for Buganda Hon. Muwanga Kivumbi and his co-accused. The matter has been adjourned to June 25.
This was due to the fact that the prosecution file remains at the International Crimes Division of the High Court in Kololo, Kampala.
The office of the DPP continues to disregard court orders by failing to transfer the case file to Butambala as directed by the court.

Despite the ongoing unjustified manhunt by the criminal regime, I am grateful to the common people who I meet daily for trying to shield me and keep me safe. Yesterday as I travelled to Gomba District to pay a visit to our home and check on my relatives, I passed by many roadblocks mounted on different roads. The inconvenience on road users is terrible. I advise the regime to stop looking for me - I will resurface at an appropriate time. The best they would do is to peacefully relinquish power and let the people of Uganda decide their own destiny. Short of that, they will face the inevitable fate of all despots before them.
