@klaseau How about July 1 for calls and virtual visits, and August 1 for official visits and offers?
Perhaps adding time for players to explore options and figure out what they want w/o the pressure of an offer’s time constraints might decrease the use of the transfer portal…
AAUs: come for the volleyball, stay for the thunderstorms every day from 4 to 4:15. (*times may vary. Check with your local weather-obsessed team parent or second assistant)
2 types of coaches:
Those who:
Coddle
Tell you what you want to hear
Don’t hold you accountable
Don't believe in you
Let you go through the motions
Those who:
Tell you the truth
Encourage
Challenge
Hold you accountable
Inspire
Demand excellence

You can buy your kids a phone; pay for college, a car. You can buy sporting equipment & uniforms, but you can’t buy their success. If they want it, they will have to work for it & earn it. Success isn’t easy. It’s gritty & hard. The price is a lot of extra work, trials & failure!
Tonight we honor the late Chris Beerman, as he is inducted into the @BallStateSports Hall of Fame.
We are so excited for him to be honored, and miss him dearly.

As club season sets to get rolling with my final year (18’s) I would like to pass along advice to the up and coming 26’s & 27’s, in no particular order:
1. It’s a marathon not a sprint, just because you’re not on anyone’s radar today doesn’t mean you won’t be tomorrow.
2. No one will be a bigger cheerleader for you then you, yes our parents are our biggest fans, but if you want to play at the next level you will have to consistently put yourself out there in front of coaches with videos and emails.
3. Do not get to wrapped up in lists, yes its great to be highlighted and mentioned but you have to remember evaluators can’t be everywhere to see everyone.
4. Always strive to play the best, push yourself to play at the highest level that allows you to grow as a player.
5. Last but certainly not least, if your doing the minimum its not good enough, the great players are always willing to do more.
Good luck this club season! #5 Out!
It’s not up to your parents/friends/coaches to decide how far you go in your sport. Your support system will advise you, guide you & they help hold you accountable, but it’s on you to deliver. Stop making excuses. It’s your responsibility to find time & put in the work! Period.
I learned something at our National Volleyball Coaches convention that bummed me out… And it is time we talk about it.
Here goes (my first ever) thread.
It’s sad to see comments attacking Husker girls. Going after someone’s character for losing a match is not okay, championship or not! College athletes are just that: 18-22 age kids. Playing at that level is difficult- we put our hearts on the line everyday for our sport. Be kind!
As a coach in women’s sports, I am fired up for the future…this is what’s possible!! As an alum, I am so so proud and excited for my teammates to witness history!

UniversityAthlete is the Google Maps of volleyball recruiting. Before UA, coaches were wandering around tournaments with a sundial and a pack of gum, just hoping for the best.
I’m excited to be a part of this great opportunity for all uncommitted athletes. I look forward to hosting recruiting seminars for parents during each showcase session! I hope to see you there! #volleyball#recruiting#collegevolleyball#showcase
