@SoniaRios_Bayer @ucanr@UCDavisPlants @utahstate_ag @WSWeedSci Bravo! Brad is a vital contributor to weed management work at UCCE, even in agronomic crops. It's beyond the call of duty, but critical to addressing grower needs given the absence of a designated agronomy weeds specialist. Very grateful for his work and collaboration!
S. Sac Valley and other parts of the state may have enough rain this weekend to get N in the ground. Most N levels are relatively low in the area given last month's rain.

Italian ryegrass: spray when weeds are between 2-leaf and 2-tiller stages and when weeds are actively growing....or approximately when your acreage starts looking like a Windows desktop background.
I know. I know. Irrigation is not on your mind, but things eventually dry out and spring comes at us fast. Get on the roster now to schedule pump tests in spring/ summer from Yolo and Solano RCD. Conor Higgins (Yolo+) and Kevin Young-lai (Solano).

Right to Repair makes headway! Great news for growers.
Tractors are not a subscription asset; a right to repair is essential to providing growers with the autonomy and flexibility they need to do their job.

Got my first Italian ryegrass herbicide trial set up on Friday. We'll be looking at the efficacy of ALS inhibitors and other grass herbicides in the control of herbicide-resistant Italian ryegrass. Many thanks to Kevin Ross at @SimplotCompany in Woodland for the tech expertise.
Nitrogen Management Webtool Webinar with Konrad Mathesius available for anyone who missed it. A how-to and two case studies from Yolo County growers who increased profits by thou$ands (on +/- 100-acre fields) by optimizing in-season N rates. ~30 minutes https://t.co/F0b3JxzYLH
@TomatoResearch ...most barley varieties are 131-140 days to maturity. Check out the Variety Selection Tools (https://t.co/8vqYv3SeoF) for details on days to maturity for some of the varieties that we've looked at in trials throughout California. A good bet is leaning toward early varieties.
@TomatoResearch Possible. Depending on when the rain comes. Typically barley is ready slightly earlier than wheat. Harvest maturity and moisture vary depending on geography. If tomatoes can go into the ground in mid-June, it might be possible. We've harvested wheat in Yolo on June 8th...
