On behalf of PuckAgency, we are very saddened to learn the news of Matiss Kivlenieks’ passing last night.
He was an outstanding young man, and he had a great love for life and hockey.
Please keep Matiss’ family in your thoughts and prayers.
NCAA coaches are back on the recruiting trail as of June 1, and unofficial visits are permitted for men's hockey prospects in 10th grade or older (2020-21 school year)
COL29 PPG: D or any F playing the point on the PP, look at how when 29 gets this puck up top, his head NEVER goes down. It is up the whole way so he can shoot around players versus putting it in their shinguards. #HockeyIsABeautifulGame#KeepYourHeadUpAndWatchIt
COL29: 1- watch how after 29 gets this puck, he gets his body moving toward the net; 2- also, look at how he shoots through the STL Dman's feet to use him as a screen.
COL72 Goal: This whole sequence starts with COL92 finishing his hit on STL90 in the corner and creating chaos. Also, great shot from COL27 at the point to find sticks versus trying to go bar down.
CAR13 Goal: Look at the puck protection & cutbacks from 13 in the corner here. Are you working on these skills? This down low OZ play is what it takes to be successful at the higher levels when playing against bigger, faster competition.
BOS12 GWG: This clip right here is why coaches & players should realize the importance of communication between players. The WSH Dman & G should have been talking to each other about where the G should place this puck after it was dumped in. Miscommunication -> GA! #TALK
VGK81 Goal: Great shot by 81 here, but let's talk about how it got to this point. Look at the patience / no panic from VGK19 on the wall in the NZ here prior to his BH pass to 81. How many of you would have chipped this in / maybe turned it over due to pressure? This is ELITE!
TB18: 1- great 1v1 move from TB21 here to put it under the D's stick to make a play on net; 2- love that 18 "funnels" to the net here to find the rebound. If you don't go to the net, your goals will eventually dry up.
PIT77 Goal: Love that PIT42 hustles to be first on the puck here. Also, watch his head. He shoulder checks prior to picking this puck up to find out where the open man is. He chips the puck behind the net, takes a hit to make the play, & PIT19 finds 77 out in the slot for a goal.
COL8: 1- another PP goal scored directly off a won draw in the OZ; 2- Elite blueline play from 8 here: a) head up, b) moves feet, c) stretch the zone to bring PKers out, & d) hip open to ride inside edges ("crosby's") to fake PKer.
