Optimal NYC balance:
• Monday–Wednesday: Work, gym, sleep. Lock in. Be boring but also make sure you’re staying healthy.
• Thursday: Hinge date or happy hour with friends. Be the fun guy
• Friday: Dinner, drinks, rooftop, whatever happens happens.
• Saturday: Absolute chaos. Gym first. Brunch, day drinks, rooftop, party, afters. Make memories. Have fun
• Sunday: Coffee, long walk, meal prep, recharge by 3pm. Take the recovery day to yourself and do whatever you want to do
That’s how you build a career & live a fun social life without waking up at 35 wondering where your twenties went.
HOW ARE ARSENAL ABLE TO AFFORD VINICIUS JR’S WAGES:
Arsenal are in for Vinicius Junior and the wage bill is of course top of mind, with how RIGID Arsenal’s structure is.
So how will Arsenal manage to do this.
Image rights.
If you didn’t know, Real Madrid take 50% of a player's commercial image rights revenue.
Florentino Perez believes that with playing at Los Blancos, they will get a boost to their name, image and likeness that they will inevitably profit from.
They have run that policy for twenty five years. Figo signed it, Zidane signed it, Beckham signed it. Ronaldo arrived in 2009 as Ballon d'Or holder, demanded 100%, and Madrid refused him before settling at 60-40.
The only other man to break it was Mbappé in 2024, who was able to negotiate at 80%.
England does not have this argument.
There is no statutory law governing image rights here, and the way it works is pretty simple.
The player owns his image, assigns it to his own company, and licences the club for them to use.
Image rights will not make Vinicius cheap. But it will allow Arsenal to offer lower wages which is most likely different to the one that’s been reported.
For Vini, this’ll be a huge change for him and one that can absolutely skyrocket his income by making the move over to London.
Let’s hope the move can happen but Arsenal can push this HARD
🚨 EXCL: Arsenal exploring move to sign Vinicius Junior from Real Madrid. #AFC interest early stage + clubs not yet in talks but idea approved at all levels. Much rests on contract process as no breakthrough yet & #RMFC do not want free exit @TheAthleticFC https://t.co/qYdS5vlfE6
The more I watch his older performances again the more I realize there’s nothing overly groundbreaking about his game. Mbappe can more than hang with him peak for peak
🔹SEEKING PROVISIONS🔹
Shaykh Saalih Al-Fawzaan, may Allah preserve him, explained:
Many of the youth today are upon the idea that a person must either have a job, or else he will not work. He thinks he must be employed, and if not, then he sits idle, having given up on the means, so he loses out. Whoever thinks he must have a job, this is a mistake. If you do not find a job, then seek provision through something other than a job.
In fact, seeking provision through something other than a job is even better, because a job is limited. We have never seen anyone grow wealthy through a job. With great effort it barely covers him and his children. But the one who buys and sells and works, this one usually becomes rich and gains wealth.
So we direct the youth not to restrict themselves to a job. Rather, they should seek provision, and a job should be the last thing. They should seek provision through buying and selling. They should seek provision through work and taking up a craft. They should seek provision through any of the many means.
The doors of provision are many, and praise be to Allah, and among them is what is right in front of us now, which is buying and selling. If this young man worked in buying and selling, little by little, it would be better for him than a job. A person, through buying and selling, little by little, grows and increases until he becomes one of the wealthy, better than the employees, better than the government ministers. The merchant is better than the minister. The merchant has money and has wealth, while the poor minister has nothing except his job. Even if we take the position to its highest, say a minister, still the one who works is better than him and has more wealth.
So we direct the youth to seek provision through its many avenues. Even the Prophet ﷺ directed people toward gathering fodder and collecting firewood from the mountains, carrying the firewood, and selling it. He ﷺ directed to this. The Prophet of Allah Daawood, peace be upon him, was a king and a prophet, and along with prophethood, in spite of this, he did not eat from the treasury that he had. Rather, he worked with his hand and ate from the earning of his hand, upon him be blessings and peace. He used to make coats of armor from iron and sell them and eat from their price, and he was the Prophet of Allah, upon him be blessings and peace.
So the avenues of provision, Alhamdulillah, are many and open. But a person must fear Allah:
{And whoever fears Allah, He will make for him a way out, and will provide for him from where he does not expect. And whoever relies upon Allah, then He is sufficient for him. Indeed, Allah’s plan will surely be carried out. Allah has already set for everything a measure}
[Surah At-Talaaq: 2-3]
This is a promise, because whoever fears Him, then Allah provides for him from where he does not expect. And taqwa, there is no doubt that it is among the greatest of means for seeking provision. Fearing Allah is the greatest of the means for seeking provision.
my wealthiest friends are absolutely ruthless about cutting negative people out of their lives. no warning, no conversation, no closure. one day you exist, the next day you don’t.
it’s almost like they’re allergic to them. broke is contagious and they refuse to catch it. honestly i respect the discipline. protect your energy, protect your mind space, and all of that.
anyway that’s how i found out we were no longer friends.
