Jurriën Timber misses the 2026 World Cup.
The 24-year-old defender has not recovered sufficiently from a groin injury to take part in the World Cup in a medically responsible manner. In consultation with the medical staff, it has therefore been decided that Timber will leave the national team’s pre-camp in New York after the game against Uzbekistan.
We’re with you, Jurriën. 🧡

@ally_wood82 There are currently DOUBTS over the signing of Georgia Stanway. Slegers was NOT impressed with her recent display against Spain in the world cup qualifier. She is THREATENING to CANCEL the deal
I don't think she was poor in either, in those games you simply do need your wingers to get back and have pace on the counter and I think she showed both in both games. I think she is a nice balancer for Smith, who is less involved (but more likely to provide end product when she is). I think it's about balance with your wide options. I agree Caitlin's numbers weren't high enough last season and I think she lost confidence in front of goal towards the end of the season but I do think she has a lot of qualities (on and off the pitch) that are very valuable. Again, understand if people see it differently but I do think, sometimes, when people get their teeth in it can become a little 'this thing wasn't good so I am no longer prepared to see any good anywhere else whatsoever' whereas I think it is more nuanced than that personally. (But again, I do understand why the quibble with end product numbers is a big one).
There is so much to come at U.S. as hosts for WC for but to say that people only came at Qatar because it wasn’t a western country is so disingenuous. They were using slave labor to build stadiums for the tournaments, WORKERS DIED
Thomas Tuchel has named Declan Rice as England’s vice-captain for this summer’s World Cup.
Rice was instrumental in the heart of Arsenal’s midfield as they won their first Premier League title in 22 years last season and has long been considered as a future England captain.
