@kl_chappy @drkerrynphelps Now where is our own local data on Children & Covid? Clearly our situation is not lining up with some other countries. The question is why, how, if … Fear & worst case projections don’t solve problems. We can mitigate, but we need to be factual & responsive to our local data 😊
@HelenBranswell@normanswan So what lessons do we learn for health systems, disaster response, crisis handling? How healthy are people in certain countries around the world? I would hate to be in the US where I would have to bankrupt my family to support my medical needs…How many deaths are at home?
@Fiona_M_Russell This worries me that fear will drive this need! I do not think healthy young children should be subjected to this if not at serious risk. Let science fully understand the risks & consequences before marching ahead. 😊
@Vic_Rollison @ShayneRobson5 How childish … show some understanding, empathy & respect to others. This has turned into an ugly mess of the judgemental. I’m saddened by these types of attitudes. Life was normal pre-Covid & will go back to normal post-Covid … shocked 😳
@Vic_Rollison @luvmut@RadicoolFem Have you actually looked at the numbers & stats around Covid issues in Australia? You are not imminently about to drop dead. Healthy people in most age ranges are more at risk issues when driving or walking .. You need to take a broader view of what is happening. Respect
@Vic_Rollison More to the point, how could we show these people such disrespect, scorn & shame. How did we even get to this. We are losing great, hard working professionals in many industries. When are we going to respect that things are not as black & white as they are painted out to be?
@boomercm@DrShaneRRR@RCHMelbourne I tend to agree that risk reward factors do not stack up at this point. Just look at the stats related to young people in Australia 🇦🇺
@joannamilosz@DrShaneRRR@RCHMelbourne I know… I think it is a serious concern that we are conveniently overlooking. We should be very concerned about how this is going to play out long term. Are we too focused on saving some & throwing others under the bus because of it?
@cjbroadhead @SzilviaVirag @DrShaneRRR@RCHMelbourne There are a lot of unknowns in this space. I think we are overlooking risk vs reward factors when it comes to young kids starting out in life. 😊
@AnnieGardener3@DrKGregorevic Not so sure about this. Coronaviruses have been around for a long time. Humans can fight off the virus through our immune system. Most people do not die or get seriously ill with lasting complications. 🤓 The issue is around risk or other health factors.
@G_Coops83@tassiedevil Being unvaccinated doesn’t mean you will get sicker from Covid. If you caught Covid & are likely to get very sick then being Vaccinated may help in that situation. I just wonder who is more at risk, a careful unvaccinated person or a reckless vaccinated person… 😵💫
@ranjitrao1@amavictoria I agree! If you want to put your neck out there & manipulate & mislead with your views in this position, then the least you can do is a public apology. This is absolutely crazy stuff!
@amavictoria Pathetic clarification! Are you serious … doctors being divisive like this is not called for no matter what your views are! Shocking stuff, I expect more from health professionals in high up positions.
@normanswan Why are we constantly trying to look for the worst & compare our situation to the worst? Stop looking at cases & case counting & start focusing on important long Covid & deaths ‘with’ or ‘from’ Covid. Too quick to lead the fear narrative imho 😟
