My 12-year-old daughter asked to sleep over at her friend’s house, and my answer was NO. I don’t allow sleepovers, and I don’t care if people call me too strict. Not every parenting decision needs public approval. Parents, would you allow your 12-year-old to sleep over at a friend’s house?

Mind you:

He didn’t decide this until 4 PM.
Our movie wasn’t starting until 10:45 PM.
He didn’t suggest another day or make any effort to reschedule. He just cancelled.

One thing about me: proper communication matters. I cannot take you seriously if you approach me wanting to get to know me, but you cannot express yourself clearly. You don’t need an extraordinary vocabulary, but at a certain age, I expect you to communicate like an adult. I shouldn’t have to decode your messages or guess what you’re trying to say. At this point in my life, clear communication is a standard, not a preference.

I took my son out today and couldn’t understand why he kept crying and asking me for a hug. 🥺

I thought he just wanted some extra love… until we got home.

I changed his diaper and froze. 😭

THERE WAS AN EGG INSIDE HIS DIAPER. 🥚😭
