Today Governor announced weaker CA eviction moratorium “compromise” for tenants who pay 25% of their rent to June 30 + $2.6B in federal funds for renter debt relief.

However, bill allows landlords to *reject* fed relief + force tenants to fully pay rent debt when moratorium ends

As lawmakers claim #BlackLivesMatter , Oakland Mayor + City Council basically ban homelessness in city where 70% of unhoused are Black.

This issue is complex + no one wants moms, children or seniors to sleep on our streets.
