A group of low-income students founded the initiative AffordableSC, which initially began as an Instagram campaign to spark changes within the financial aid system but is now an alliance comprised of almost 400 students.

We have received a response from the administration, however, we find it to be inadequate in providing solid support for FGLI students and beyond. Along with the slides provided, see our full updated response in the carrd linked in our bio.
In response to the staggering costs and insufficient financial packages, students have mobilized to demand a more affordable USC that lowers the barrier for low income students, including the campaign @AffordableSC, filing lawsuits and signing petitions.
Even amid a pandemic and a remote fall semester, @USC’s cost of tuition has increased to an all time high of $59,260, leaving students fighting for a financial aid package that actually cuts down cost.
Today AffordableSC & those who participated in our email campaign received this response from Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs Charles F. Zukoski on behalf of USC Administration.
