Fiscal privileges granted to large corporations and elites deprive African states of billions each year. Exemptions, deductions, and incentives are presented as investment support, but in reality they benefit the wealthiest. While multinationals and fortunes accumulate profits, public budgets shrink, leaving schools underfunded, hospitals without resources, and infrastructure neglected. Ordinary citizens pay VAT and indirect taxes, while elites escape fair contribution. Ending these policies is urgent. Governments must redesign tax systems to ensure everyone contributes equitably and public resources finance essential services. Fiscal justice is indispensable to reduce inequality and build a fairer future.
