The Final Walk of a Legend

On the evening of June 17, 2025, wildlife photographer Sachin Rai captured an emotional moment as Arrowhead took what would become her final walk along the banks of Padam Talab — the same lake she had ruled for years.

Known as T-84, Arrowhead was the granddaughter of the legendary Machali and the daughter of tigress Krishna (T-19). Like her grandmother, she became famous for hunting crocodiles — a rare and daring behavior among tigers. In her prime, she was not only a powerful hunter but also a devoted mother who raised her cubs with care.

However, her final years were marked by a painful battle. Arrowhead was suffering from severe bone cancer, which gradually weakened her body. Despite her condition, she never stopped fighting. Just days before her death, she was still recorded killing a crocodile near the lake — a testament to the strength and instincts she refused to surrender.

In her last days, her health declined rapidly. Her cubs were tranquilized and relocated to another reserve for their safety. On June 19, 2025, Arrowhead passed away at the age of 11, bringing an end to the journey of a tigress who fought until her very last breath.
