SUSPECTED SERIAL RAPIST ARRESTED FOR RAPING SIXTEEN WOMEN
A suspected serial rapist who was terrorising women in Cato Manor was arrested on Thursday, 17 September 2026 following intensive investigations by police investigators who are members of the Serial and Electronic Crime Investigation (SECI) and #InvestigativePsychology Unit (IPU) which are within the #FamilyViolence, #ChildProtection and #SexualOffences Unit (FCS).
The 46-year-old suspect started his raping spree in 2014, and between that year and 2025 he had allegedly raped fourteen (14) women in Cato Manor and a woman each in Plessislaer and Taylor’s Halt. The suspect was operating mostly at night, and his modus operandi was to follow women of different ages from taverns to their homes where he reportedly raped them and robbed them of their belongings. In some instances, the suspect allegedly broke into houses and raped his victims at knifepoint, especially vulnerable women who were staying alone.
The victims could not identify the suspect because he reportedly disguised his face by wearing pantyhose, however, police detectives and investigators from the specialised units connected the dots, established a modus operandi, and linked the suspects through the DNA. He will appear in the Durban Magistrates Court on Monday, 21 September 2026 on multiple charges of rape, housebreaking, and attempted murder.

THIS IS WHAT PUPPIES WERE LIVING IN AT SAPS ROODEPLAAT K9 FACILITY
This footage was supplied to us as having been recorded at the SAPS K9 Academy in Roodeplaat during the period of the parvovirus outbreaks.
It appears to show puppies confined in deeply unhygienic conditions, with food lying on the floor among their faeces.
Parvovirus is highly contagious and spreads through infected faeces and contaminated environments. Proper cleaning, isolation, vaccination and strict biosecurity are therefore fundamental.
SAPS’s own statement records that 75 puppies died during the 2019 outbreak.
A further 45 were lost in 2020, eight died and 37 were euthanised. That is 120 puppies across the two outbreaks.
We are publishing this footage because the public deserves to know what conditions existed, what SAPS investigated and what was done about it.
Who inspected these kennels? Who was responsible for hygiene and disease control? Were these conditions reported, and if so, what action followed? Most importantly, why did the same facility remain under a cloud of serious animal-welfare concerns years later?
We will submit the footage for authentication and demand the inspection reports, cleaning registers, duty rosters, outbreak investigations and disciplinary outcomes.
Sky has become a voice for every police animal that could not speak for itself. We will not allow these questions to disappear again.

As @POTUS has made clear, the South African people are being failed by a government that is destroying its economy through an obsessive pursuit of racial grievance against the Afrikaner minority. The South African government has consistently failed to adequately address rural crime, violent and dehumanizing rhetoric, and race-based discriminatory policies against Afrikaners and other minority populations.
Today, I’m announcing a new visa restriction policy targeting foreign nationals who enact or enable policies that promote race-based discrimination, incite violence, or enable land confiscation without compensation in South Africa. Those responsible for these injustices have no place in the United States. https://t.co/aSTn73Punn
Kidnapping: don't be a target.
Vary your routes and times, stay alert at your gate and at robots (most start as hijackings), share your live location, and keep doors locked with a gap to pull away. If a loved one doesn't answer — Family Trigger sends armed response to their location.

With the current concerns around femicide and violence against women, my message is simple: Be vigilant, but don’t live in fear.
A few practical safety tips:
• Trust your instincts.
If something or someone makes you uncomfortable, move away and seek help.
• Be aware of your surroundings, particularly when walking to your car, entering your home, using ATMs or travelling alone.
• Avoid predictable routines where possible. Vary your routes and times, particularly if you feel you are being followed or watched.
• When driving, keep your doors locked and be cautious when stopping in isolated areas. If you believe you are being followed, don’t drive home -go to a police station, security complex or busy public place.
• At home, secure doors, windows and gates, and activate your alarm or armed response every night. Even if you are only going to bed for a few hours, don’t take chances.
• Be careful about what you share publicly on social media. Avoid posting your exact location or announcing that you are home alone or away from home.
• Have an emergency plan. Your family or trusted friends should know where you are and who to contact if something goes wrong.
• Use technology wisely. Make sure your phone is charged, emergency contacts are easily accessible, and consider using a trusted safety or location-sharing service. A safety/emergency app is recommended.
And importantly, speak up when you see something suspicious.
Communities can play a major role in preventing crime.
Report suspicious behaviour to the police or your security provider rather than confronting suspects yourself.
Women should not have to live in fear. But until we get on top of violent crime, vigilance, preparation and looking out for one another can save lives.
Stay alert, stay connected and, above all, stay safe.

SIU: R58m Ekurhuleni land fraud uncovered:
The SIU says 208 of 221 municipal stands in Villa Liza, Ekurhuleni, were fraudulently transferred into private hands between 2018–2022 without Council approval.
The land was valued at R58m. The municipality received nothing.
A conveyancing firm allegedly used forged rates clearance certificates and powers of attorney.
The SIU says 73 stands were acquired by the conveyancer and his associates, later resold for an average of R250,000 each.
The matter has been referred to the NPA, with 208 fraud referrals, while referrals were also made to the LPC, SARS and FIC.
SIU will approach the Special Tribunal to set aside the unlawful transfers and recover losses.

Eskom spokesperson Daphne Mokwena has confirmed to Chris Yelland and @OUTASA that @Eskom_SA will NOT fine residential customers and will NOT cut-off electricity supply to residential customers for failing to register their solar PV/BESS systems with @Eskom_SA by 30 September 2026 or thereaafter.
It seems quite mindless for @Eskom_SA to announce upfront the details of it's new strategy to infiltrate criminal syndicates that are ripping Eskom off left right and centre. Good grief. What do they really hope to achieve by announcing this publicly, other than to render it ineffective?
Koeberg nuclear power station now fully shut down.
@Eskom_SA confirms that Koeberg Nuclear Power Station’s Unit 1 was taken offline just before 1 am today following a turbine trip. The cause of the turbine trip is currently under investigation. Unit 2 at Koeberg has been shut down for several months now undergoing maintenance and testing.
