Electronic datasets allow analysts to identify transnational criminal organizations, screen activities for corruption, and recover stolen assets. The digitization of previously inaccessible electronic data, including government gazettes, is revolutionizing the role of publicly available information in disrupting illicit networks.

@Uganda_LII began as a modest dream, that the law of Uganda should be open to all her people. and in doing so, it has changed the face of both legal practice and legal education
Today, under the Judicial Training Institute, His Worship @JoelWegoye guides it through new inventions and new challenges alike: building digital libraries, expanding public access, and meeting the trials of technology and resources. He comes to tell us both its story and its future; what it has endured, what it has achieved, and what it yet holds in store for the people of Uganda.
Last year, as part of the African Union’s #YearofEducation commemoration, I was invited by @AfricanLII to contribute to the Data for Governance Alliance policy brief on a subject close to my heart: advancing girls’ education across the continent.

Zambian High Court orders Rastafarian schoolboy 2 cut his dreadlocks 2 attend a government school or opt 4 a private one✍Schools have the legal right to set conditions 4 attendance to maintain law & order & requiring a student to cut dreadlocks is not an unreasonable condition
ULII constantly digitises older judgments. These two might have been circulated privately at the time. There is no single archive, making ULII's work so much more difficult. We appreciate your patience as ULII works on sourcing important documents. Your advice on what is important is much appreciated.
In 1993, the Organisation of African Unity (now @_AfricanUnion) First Pan-African Conference on Reparations in Abuja, #Nigeria 🇳🇬, issued the Abuja Proclamation, a bold declaration demanding global recognition and action for #reparations.
The proclamation called for:
✅ National reparations committees across #Africa and the #diaspora.
✅ Acknowledgment of the moral and material debt owed to Africans and people of African descent.
✅ Reparations to address the lasting impacts of slavery, colonization, and systemic injustice.
This document united voices across the continent and diaspora, laying the groundwork for ongoing efforts to achieve #justice and equity for African people worldwide.
