So this man realized Ruto was incompetent after he was kicked out of office? Spare us your hypocrisy! Ati 4 girls, even lying requires some intelligence, does he really expect anyone to believe that? You incited those you call your people and you took off while all the burning, looting and vandalism happened in their areas! What does burning of vehicles, super markets and trucks have to do with the global increase in the price of fuel? Hope you are happy now, well done!!
Beginning in October this year, we will provide free uniforms to all public ECDE learners in Nakuru County. This forms part of my agenda to give our children a strong educational foundation while easing the cost of schooling for parents.
I made the announcement at Dundori VTC during the distribution of the first tranche of this Financial Yearโs County Bursary cheques to learners in various institutions across Dundori Ward, Bahati Sub County. A total of 957 students at different levels of education in the Ward received bursaries amounting to Sh4,787,000. Across Bahati Sub County, 5,885 students have been awarded bursaries worth Sh25,608,820. We remain committed to ensuring bright children from financially disadvantaged families access quality education. No child will be left behind.
In addition to free uniforms, our ECDE learners continue to benefit from the Uji Programme, construction and equipping of modern ECDE centres, and recruitment of teachers. I urged young people to take advantage of the Sh30,000 capitation provided per learner and enrol in VTCs such as Dundori VTC. We will ensure Dundori VTC secures a title deed for its land.
I also highlighted development projects in the area, including renovation of the maternity block, toilets and septic tank at Dundori Health Centre, works at Githioro Health Centre, and water projects in Wanyororo, Githioro, Menengai, Chura and Nyangui. Through our Imarisha Barabara Programme, we are grading and murraming roads in the Ward, including Jemus, Wanyororo and Bavuni roads, alongside installation of high mast lights. Construction of the ultra-modern ESP market in Dundori is ongoing, as well as market stalls in different trading centres. We are also continuing with last-mile distribution of subsidized fertiliser to farmers in Dundori.
I assured Dundori residents that processing of title deeds for their parcels of land is at an advanced stage. Boda Boda operators in the area are also set to benefit from our low-interest Sh30 million Boda Boda Fund. The Governorโs Cup, a multi-sport tournament, will kick off on June 5 this year at the Ward level.
I expressed concern over this weekโs killing of PCEA Tabuga Parish minister Rev. Julius Ndumia and called on security agencies in Bahati and Nakuru County to enhance the safety of residents. I have been in contact with security agencies, urging them to ensure investigations are concluded and the perpetrators brought to justice.
Present were County Secretary Samuel Mwaura, CECs Zipporah Wambui and Stephen Kuria, Deputy CS Newton Mwaura, Chief Officers Martin Kagai and Francis Njoroge, and MCAs led by area MCA Gathuita Mwangi.
Inspected the ongoing construction of Kuresoi Level 4 Hospital at Kiptororo Centre in Kuresoi, in line with my commitment to ensure every sub-county in Nakuru is served by a Level 4 hospital.
I was encouraged by the pace of work, with the hospital expected to be completed by the end of the year. Once complete, the facility will offer both outpatient and inpatient services. It will have a maternity wing, a newborn unit, specialized clinics, two theatres, a laboratory, X-ray rooms, and wards. The hospital will spare area residents the burden of travelling long distances to Nakuru to access referral services. I remain committed to providing quality, affordable, and timely healthcare services to the people of Nakuru.
Present were Deputy Governor H E David Kones, CECs Roselyn Mungai and Leonard Bor, and MCAs Alex Bor and Wesley Langat.
We have finalised the disbursement of the first tranche of this Financial Yearโs County Bursary Programme in Kiptororo ward, issuing cheques to beneficiaries from Kiptororo, Sirikwa, Nyota and Kamara wards in Kuresoi North Sub-county.
A total of 4,332 students drawn from the four wards in Kuresoi North received bursaries amounting to Sh18,741,865 reaffirming my commitment to supporting needy learners to access quality education and improve the future of their families.
I highlighted several development projects in the area, including the ongoing construction of Kuresoi North Level 4 Hospital and renovations at Kiptororo Dispensary, tea buying centres at Burgei, Mwaragania and Ararwet, a milk cooling plant at Chemare Cooperative Society, and the construction of a potato cooling store at Kiptororo Cooperative Society. We have also opened a store in Kiptororo to support last-mile distribution of subsidised fertiliser among other projects.
To boost entrepreneurship through our low-interest Sh100 million Wezesha Fund, we are issuing loans worth Sh1.4 million to 14 groups in Kiptororo, Sirikwa (Sh900,000), Kamara (Sh1.85 million) and Nyota (Sh500,000). We have allocated Sh11 million for grading and gravelling roads in Kiptororo Ward by the end of June this year.
Present were Deputy Governor H E David Kones, CECs Zipporah Wambui, Leonard Bor and Roselyn Mungai, Deputy CS Newton Mwaura, Chief Officers Kibet Kurgat and Gladys Kamuren, and MCAs led by area MCA Alex Bor.
