"...To evaluate African leaders purely through the lens of a transplanted Westphalian model, without accounting for that history, is analytical laziness dressed as principle..."

We shouldn't be like an ostrich that buries the head in the sand, the protest serves a humane purpose for the blood spilled. It doesn't make other Africans any less Pan-African, just objective partners.
Fellow Ugandans, especially the Bazzukulu, greetings.
After consultations with the national epidemic response task force and religious leaders, we have decided to postpone the Martyrs' Day to a later date, which will be communicated.
This decision was made because Uganda receives thousands of pilgrims annually from Eastern Congo, which is currently experiencing an Ebola outbreak. To safeguard everyone's lives, it is essential that this important event be postponed.
I encourage those who had begun their journey to return home, continue observing the precautionary measures, report anyone who is sick, and encourage those who are ill to seek medical care.
We regret any inconvenience caused, but the protection of life must come first.
Signed:
Yoweri K. Museveni

Today at Nakasero, I met Mr. Aliko Dangote and we discussed the proposed East African regional refinery.
I informed him that from the very beginning, we have always opposed the export of raw materials without value addition. That is why Uganda delayed oil production because we insisted on first having a refinery. Without refining our oil, it would not make economic or strategic sense to simply export crude oil while others benefit from the finished products.
I, therefore, welcomed the idea of a bigger regional refinery because our objective is African integration and shared prosperity. We cannot continue operating as fragmented and weak markets. If East Africa works together, such projects become more viable and beneficial to our people.
Uganda is ready to support the regional refinery initiative while also continuing with the development of our own refinery in Hoima.
Beyond his well-earned wealth, what Alhaji Dangote has done for the mindset, self-belief & determination of Africa’s entrepreneurs will need an entire dissertation.
We will ALL never be the same after this.

coordination is a super skill
that's why people who host parties, manage events, projects will always have a job
it's insanely hard to bring different skill sets, temperaments, and focus them on one end goal
if you learn to coordinate, you can do anything
A Ugandan Music Industry Genius!
Meet Benon Mugumbya: a true Ugandan music legend who turned early tragedy into a powerhouse empire.
Born just two weeks after losing his father, Benon found his voice in school choirs. By 2001, he formed the iconic duo Benon and Vamposs, dropping hits like "Mumuleete" that even reached the UK MTV Top 10 charts.
But he wanted more. Despite lacking formal skills with musical instruments, Benon was determined to master audio production. He hustled, learned from local mentors, and took a massive leap in 2008 to launch his own studio, Swangz Avenue.
Today, Swangz Avenue is an industry titan that has shaped the sound of many legends. From a fatherless boy to an award-winning producer and Buganda Tourism Board member, Benon proves that with pure grit and vision, you can orchestrate your own success.
What do you learn from his story!
If we have to dredge up 125 years of Africa’s woes and the global history of pan-Africanism to explain away a colonial-style denationalisation of Ugandan citizens abroad, and a law that seizes the sweat of its Diaspora, then we are deep in a bizarre alternative universe. It’s the flip
side of the slave trade. Marcus Garvey would be mortified.
Every month, my Company pays me a salary, not much, just a little $1000 but it's proof that an idea can grow and even start paying you.
It's now been 6 months getting paid a salary from a company I started, hasn't even made a year and it all feels good.
Videmak,Inc is a Tech company, started in Uganda and registered in USA without leaving Uganda, never raised any funding, just bootstrapped. Would continue to emphasize that tech can liberate this country.
We just need to decide and go all in as a country.
Whatever idea you have, just launch, pivot if need be but don't stop. It's never been easy creating amazing things like today.
Guess who is opposing Dangote’s proposal to build a 1.2M barrels a day refinery in east Africa (Tanzania, Kenya and Congo)
World Bank and IMF. : )))
Their argument? it would give monopoly to one company over energy.
1) All the while, French refineries are in almost every oil producing countries in Africa.
2) No African countries could get a loan to build a refinery larger than 400,000 barrels per day (one of the most profitable businesses ever). So the majority are small and struggle for profitability.
3) Nigeria oil had to be exported to Europe, refined and in many cases sold back to Nigeria and ECOWAS countries, under companies like shell and total.
4) it took until a billionaire financed the refinery in Nigeria himself to change part of that production and supply pipeline. And today, after the Hormuz blockade, EU countries are now buying oil from Dangote.
I designed a plushie. Found a manufacturer. Figured out logistics. And somehow... shipped them across the world. This was all possible because of ApeChain (the team and community)🙃
Now, the Bush Babies are coming home!🇺🇬
