When my Cathedral was bombed by Boko Haram, my family and I narrowly escaped. Rome sent assistance to help rebuild what was damaged.
So when you tell me that the Catholic Church is “taxing us” to send money to Rome, I honestly wonder what Church you think you are talking about.
Peters Pence is not a tax. It is a voluntary offering that supports the Pope’s mission and helps the Church respond to people and communities in need around the world.
And Africa is one of its greatest beneficiaries.
In 2025 alone, Peter’s Pence funded €5.2 million worth of 73 direct-assistance projects across Africa, the largest share of any continent. In 2024, Africa received another €5.7 million for 64 projects. These projects include churches, pastoral centres, schools, humanitarian assistance and support for Churches in difficult circumstances.
So who do you think helps the Church in countries ravaged by war, terrorism, famine and poverty?
Who do you think has helped build and rebuild schools, hospitals, churches and other institutions across Africa?
And during the Nigerian Civil War, who do you think provided humanitarian and missionary assistance to suffering Nigerians, including the people of Biafra?
The Catholic Church was there.
Nigeria alone has received enormous support through the universal Catholic Church. And yet you want to pretend that Catholics in Africa are simply sending money to Rome and getting nothing in return?
Please.
The money African Catholics contribute to Peter’s Pence is tiny compared with what major donor countries contribute. In 2024, for example, the United States alone accounted for 25.2% of Peter’s Pence donations.
Meanwhile, the Church continues to send assistance back to communities in Africa and elsewhere.
The Catholic Church is universal. We don't have a “Rome versus Africa” mentality. We are one Church, one family, with the Successor of Peter serving the universal Church.
So before accusing the Church of “taxing” Africans to enrich Rome, perhaps take a moment to actually look at where the money goes.
You might discover that Africa is not merely a contributor to the Catholic Church. Africa is also one of the greatest beneficiaries of the universal Church’s generosity.
You are being profoundly dishonest when you erase all of this.
The biblical text says plainly that it wasn't instant. Moses raised his staff and God sent winds that took the whole night to fully create the passage way. The passage was fully formed by morning. God's blessings are generally not instant, wait on Him ❤️.
@theflagboii Omojuwa had passion! Raw solid passion. He’s twerking for a man who’s begging that his criminal records shouldn’t be released. No one can fool me again!

Make I quickly go show her husband this chat. No need to delete, I’ve already screenshotted everything
If someone says something factually stupid boldly, I don't understand why the person should not be told what he said is stupid boldly. At least state it with fact.
