@ericjackson Before the album drop, he was around 55m per day, 2nd to only Bad bunny.
Other artist who supposedly have higher monthly listeners are usually far behind around 40m streams per day.
Best example is Bruno mars who supposedly has 136M monthly listeners but is only pulling 33m pe
@ericjackson The metric they use for monthly listeners is not a true reflection of an artist's audience.
Most of the numbers reflect industry based playlist and shuffle mechanism.
For example, Drake has been averaging around 80m streams per day, more than any other artist @ericjackson
@uzanethegoat Monthly listeners is statisticslly meaningless.
It just means that the industry puts you in multiple shuffle playlists increasing your outreach.
It has nothing to do with listeners.
What matters most is streams per day, which Drake and bad bunny usually dominate
@jmasiex At the end of the day it's undeniably the people's hit.....
Everywhere you go you hear janice and shabang.....every tiktok and insta reel has them. That's what matters the most.
They use radio and playlist to manipulate charts, but "They can't fake influence"
Drake got the summer
@jmasiex I disagree. Shabang is the one.
But billboard rules and radio/label suppression would not let it peak.
Forget overall radio, they are not even putting any drake song in Urban/rhytmic radio top 20.
@jmasiex Sony music is pushing that song since Future is signed to them.
They added it to the biggest playlist on spotify "Top hits" immediately same as on Apple music.
Janice STFU and Shabang were clearly outstreaming it but Janice was only added on the 2nd week
@TheGrandeTop10 3rd consecutive week at #1
He didn't have to be fradulent like your pop bundle merchants....who release multiple variants to secure a #1.
@SpaceBully237@strifewaves He goes further at the end with schemes of Kendrick and Jay Z songs.....
"MONEY TREES" and "FOR FREE" are Kendrick songs
"Run this Town" and "Niggas in paris" are Jay Z songs.
Also "The Jig is Up" is a Kendrick song produced by J Cole. That makes it a Triple entendre
@strifewaves@SpaceBully237 Lol That weeknd scheme completely went over my head.
Btw do u think that
"Trickinโ it off on her payinโ her bill
Thatโs just how I do the sauce and the spill"
Is a shot at Beyonce?
....specially the last line might be a reference to a SNL skit on "Beyonce Hot ones".
@strifewaves There's a lotta doubles and triples conceptually.
For example I just caught the Weeknd scheme he did on "Janice STFU" which I overlooked cuz you can apply it to dot
Did you catch that one?
@strifewaves Yeah I hear you but If you watch the intro for the fashion killa video....Rihana walking down the hallway and that waiter on burning bridges who look like her doing the same.
It's definitely for ASAP.
