today's #modwrite is for @AfterWords2024 & as I think about 'hysterical' sounds in Hamilton's radio plays, I'm struck by the similar tone taken by this listener in 1944, who wrote to the BBC:

"Rope" was ROTTEN to the core - not one redeeming feature. Horrible! Horrible!!!
