In 2019 my husband and I moved home to save my family's farm from foreclosure. Now we're scaling our tallow skincare business to buy back the remaining 700 acres before it's sold off to developers. Every jar starts with our cattle, raised on the very land we're fighting to keep.
Last night, we spoke at the county commissioners meeting about how large scale data centers could impact agriculture in our area.
One of our biggest concerns is rising land prices driven by industrial encroachment and potential rezoning.
The county is putting ordinances in place that will define how these facilities are built and regulated…covering water, energy infrastructure and proximity to neighboring properties.
Project West (a proposed 500 acre facility several miles from our farm) has now been placed under a moratorium (a pause) through June while the county reevaluates these rules.
But make no mistake, these ordinances will shape what comes next and our county is clearly planning on having these types of development in our area.
Stay informed. Stay engaged.
The future of our land, agriculture, and rural communities depends on it.
ALERT: LA mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt fires back against Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass after a reporter asked him if being a “reality TV star” is hurtful for his campaign.
“That was from 20 years ago. If we look at what Karen Bass was doing 20 years ago, she was in Cuba learning how to make bombs with the people who would then go bomb Capitol Hill.”
@cynicalmilkmaid Do you use grok? I have been using it to build a faceless social media platform with my farm footage and I have a merch plan it helped me with. Might want to consider that a as a sales strategy.
