Soil constraints and variability are common challenges often impacting productivity and profitability for growers in the Coonamble region of New South Wales.
One of the most significant issues across many paddocks is sodicity, which can severely limit crop and pasture performance, limiting return on investment.
Precision Agriculture in partnership with Elders have identified potential savings north of $100 per ha just in product savings alone.
The teams are now working with a number of Eldersβ agronomy clients in the area, bringing practical, precision ag solutions to more local farmers.
As Campbell, our Northern Business Development Manager, says "The most expensive action can be inaction."

Out at Mt Mercer today with the Ballarat BetterBeef Group for their on-farm pasture walk π±
Thanks to Lisa Warn and Neil James (Agriculture Victoria) for a hands-on session on pasture management, soil test interpretation, and fertiliser strategy.
Always good getting in the paddock with local producers.
Another week, another paddock. Our field technicians are out in northern Victoria soil sampling as the seed goes in the ground.
Current data. Current conditions. Current decisions.

Another early start, another ute headding to the field. Our team is working across multiple states right now to get soil sampling done as seeders hit the paddock.
With many crops already in the ground, there's still a window to sample and get your results back in time to finalise your 2026 fertiliser plans.
Give us a call if you need us on your place. We're on the road.

Every paddock is different. Every nutrient plan should be too. π±
We're out on farms right now, collecting the soil data that takes the guesswork out of your fertiliser decisions this season.
With with uncertainty around fertiliser pricing and availability, knowing exactly what your crop needs and where isn't just good practice. It's good business..
Bookings are open now. Get in touch before the season gets away.

Our partners at Incitec Pivot Fertilisers have published a piece you should read before you finalise your N plans for 2026.
The short version: late season rainfall and warm soils have created elevated nitrogen mineralisation potential this year. That sounds like good news and it could be but it needs to be measured. Sampling too soon after rain gives you a snapshot of N in transition, not a stable estimate. April is the window to get it right.
The article also flags that N may have moved deeper than 30 cm this season. If you're not testing to at least 60 cm, you could be making fertiliser decisions on incomplete data.
We've been saying it for years: deep soil testing is the foundation. This season, it matters more than ever.
Worth a read.
If your clients are finalising fertiliser decisions before seeding, the April window is open now.

Some things are just better in person. π€
Last week we had the pleasure of welcoming Dan to Ballarat for the very first time! Dan has been a valued member of the Precision Ag team since November, doing great work from WA, so it was fantastic to finally have him here with the Ballarat team.
We made the most of the visit, got some great work done together, and even managed to fit in dinner. Moments like these are a good reminder of how much a little face time means. Great to have you here, Dan!
