Agricultural Water Center researchers held a dedicated session at the UCOWR conference to present their publications on a variety of topics. They also had the opportunity to enjoy a social dinner with Dr. Jim Dobrowolski, the USDA NIFA national program manager.

Finally, we stopped at one of Bullseye Farmsโs pistachio orchards to learn about their implementation of cover crops, and USDA Researcher Matthew Roby discussed the use of flux towers to monitor the cover cropโs effect on the ecosystem-scale carbon and water exchange at the site.
At our second stop, we met with engineers from the City of Woodland to learn about their use of aquifer storage and recovery wells to maintain surface water quality throughout the city.
Itโs time for field trips! At our first stop of the day, graduate student Cassandra Bonfil presented on nitrogen leaching evaluation at this processing tomato site.
Our final keynote speaker, @USDA_NIFA National Program Leader for Water James P. Dobrowolski, joined us virtually to give closing remarks for todayโs presentations.
