Leave online hullabaloo here and do all you can to strategically position your kids. Rent in a neighborhood where your children will play with the children of someone from whom you need a connection. Be an Ursher of a church pew where those you need sit. Take your children to schools where “proper” kids go an ask your children to make the “right friends”! These are things my father told me in 1981 as he took me to Nakasero Primary School. My class had the twin boys of then Prime Minister Otema Alimadi. They were my playmates and many other top level kids. Those schools mates have been of great help. Kids returning from exile came back with great English and books we never had at home! They had Tin Tin and Asterix and Obelix comic books. I am now a news anchor in English. Not everyone who went to my schools speaks as I do. My dad told me how you pronounce words opens doors!!!
