I welcomed our Muslim brothers and sisters to the Iftar dinner at State House, Entebbe, and I congratulate them upon reaching this important stage of the Ramadan fast. My appreciation goes to the Muslim community and all Ugandans for the massive support to the NRM in the recent elections.
The Ramadan season reminds us of the need to work for justice, unity, and global affluence. Ugandans deserve commendation for rejecting sectarianism and embracing national unity, a principle that has strengthened the NRM since the expansion of the NRC in 1989.
"I have spoken out about valves many times before. There is no family session that determines Uganda's fate. There is the Cabinet, there is parliament, there is the judiciary. It is important that you hold these institutions accountable. I came here because I want to be accountable for my work. The work I do to try and create jobs for young people, help firms, despite the insults."~ @Odrek_Rwabwogo on the #TheCapitalGang
To keep our work untainted by lies,
Our patience and restraint are often tested.
They are tested by those who deliberately refuse to accept the difference our export strategy is making for SMEs and increasing national revenues.
We will keep working, communicating, and convincing, for we know a country is not built or strengthened for the next generation in a day. One day, we will win over our internal and external critics by the power of our example and our arguments, not lies or brawls. We will get there.
Thank you, all listeners of the Capital Gang show, who sent us encouraging messages.
Keep tuned to our upcoming programmes across the country.
