Brandon Johnson hides behind the race card every time someone demands basic law and order.
Meanwhile, the biggest victims of his chaos are the black and brown families trapped in the neighborhoods he’s abandoned.
Strike and the #CTULocal1 are synonymous with one another. When they can't get their way, Strike to get out of doing their job. Students just didn't walk out by the way. The #CTULocal1 had a hand in it.
BREAKING: After students walked out, rallied, testified, and demanded that CPS invest in their school and their futures, ChiArts educators voted overwhelmingly to authorize a strike if necessary to protect the programs their students love and deserve.
They are fighting for adequate staffing, preserving a world-class arts high school, protecting meaningful arts instruction, and ensuring students don't have to choose between the arts, AP classes, world languages, and other opportunities that help them thrive.
The ChiArts community has put forward real solutions that preserve the conservatory model while meeting district requirements. CTU has done the work and built a blueprint. Now they're demanding a seat at the table.
CTU stands in solidarity with ChiArts educators and students as they fight to keep the arts alive, protect opportunities for young artists, and ensure ChiArts remains a thriving public school for generations to come.

Illinois Democrats are asking Illinoisans to believe they passed a balanced and responsible budget.
Yet for many Illinois residents struggling with continued high taxes, rising costs of during business, high crime and ongoing fiscal concerns, that claim is becoming increasingly difficult to accept.
They end their session and go on summer break patting themselves on the back.
Automatic Fuel tax rises again in July.

Well we know your tied lock and step by your puppet master, the #CTULocal1. They raised you, bought you and will make sure they keep their puppet in office #ChicagosMayor.
I am the first mayor of Chicago in modern history that doesn't have ties to the political machine. No one made me, except for the people that raised me. That's working people. And that's who I'm always going to fight for.
I extend my sincere condolences to the family, friends, and loved ones of Spencer Leak Jr. of on his passing.
His family's contributions to the community and the lives he touched will not be forgotten. During this time of loss, I humbly pray that God grants comfort, strength, and peace to all who mourn his passing.
My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends during this difficult time. May his memory and contributions forever be a blessing to all who knew him. #Leak #Chicago #ARLeak #FuneralHome
The Illinois Senate just passed legislation allowing out-of-state illegal immigrants to receive in-state tuition rates at all Illinois public universities.
……According to an update from
Illinois State Senator Andrew Chesney
The vote: 38 Yes (all Democrats)
19 No (all Republicans)
Illinois taxpayers will be responsible for funding this measure through increased taxes.
Chesney says:
“You can’t make this stuff up.
The university bureaucracies love it because it means more revenue. Illinois families get the bill. At a time when tuition is already too high, Springfield is once again putting everyone else ahead of the taxpayers who actually live here.
I voted no.”
Nice try Stacy but criticism of your joining the mayor on his trip to Rome was not related to race. It had everything to do with your open hostility toward poor families receiving public support to attend parochial schools.
Under your leadership, CTU pressured “Captain Courageous”—Governor Pritzker and the Illinois General Assembly—to end the Invest in Kids scholarship program, which benefited more than 15,000 low-income families.
During COVID, you and CTU leadership unsuccessfully pressured the General Assembly to prevent Catholic schools from resuming in-person learning while city public schools remained shuttered for 78 weeks.
You are leading the effort to lobby Gov. Pritzker to opt out of the federal scholarship program, which would provide hundreds of millions of dollars in educational assistance and tuition support to lower-income families whose children attend private schools.
Did the Pope know that Mayor Johnson’s entourage included individuals—including the mayor himself—who have been hostile to supporting poor Black families seeking to send their children to parochial schools?
For example, your efforts stripped 175 scholarships from Hope Academy’s 300 high school students on Chicago’s West Side. You and the mayor should have asked the Pope for absolution!
Nearly 10 hours after residents heard gunfire yesterday — but failed to call 911 about it — a passerby found a young man dead in a vacant lot in South Chicago.
That lot was monitored by ShotSpotter until the mayor unplugged the system in 2024.

Chicagoans have had enough of Trump’s blasphemous war in Iran.
Someone should explain to the president that his belligerence is only making it harder for working families to make ends meet.
Mayor Brandon Johnson said his meeting with Pope Leo was affirming both as mayor and a person of faith, but some locals disagree about the merits of the visit. https://t.co/Oi97YBZXJ8
In my conversation with His Holiness, Pope Leo XIV, I witnessed an incredibly humble man whose Chicago roots define the magnanimity of his leadership in this moment.
As we enter the weekend, I am urging parents, guardians and trusted adults to help prevent unsanctioned teen gatherings. Know where your children are and talk with them about the risks of attending these events.
To Chicago’s young people: do not attend these gatherings. They can escalate quickly and carry serious consequences. @Chicago_Police will enforce curfew and applicable laws, and community violence intervention partners will be on the ground to help keep young people safe.
@Chicago is investing in its youth. Today is the final day to apply for @ChiYouthWorks, the city’s summer jobs program. I encourage young people to apply and download the My CHI. My Future. app to connect with summer opportunities.
Stay safe, look out for one another and choose opportunities that invest in your future.
Don't forget! Apply to @ChiYouthWorks by this Friday, May 29th, if you're a Chicagoan between the ages of 14 and 24 looking for a summer job or paid internship.

Here's some data for you, Mayor:
83 gunshot victims have needlessly suffered from agonizingly long emergency responses because nobody called 911 about the gunfire that felled them since you removed their neighborhood ShotSpotters.
Are you proud of that?
