And you kinda think "they have a real support system, not someone they were on assignment with for a year or two" so it feels more comfortable to grieve for them silently in the shadows.
But thats what we do. We are SHIELD. We protect no matter the cost. This has to carry weight
As a SHIELD Agent you are expected to accept loss. There are risks and people don't always make it out.
This does not prepare you for when someone outside of the organization loses someone close to them.
And, I'll say it, its weird to not be comfortable reaching out and saying something. You knew them as a contractor, ex agent, etc, but you knew them as a person and this stuff hurts them
