🚨 DYNASTY RB RANKINGS ARE HERE 🚨
The FantasyHolics team combined the rankings from FIVE different rankers to build our consensus dynasty RB list… and this position might be the toughest one in fantasy football right now. Here are our top-30.
Running back value changes FAST. Age cliffs, workload, contract situations, offensive scheme, receiving upside, and draft capital all matter when projecting long-term value.
Some backs are built to help you win now.
Others are future stars waiting for their opportunity.

What is your 2026 outlook for Jonathon Brooks?
His competition for touches as it stands is Trevor Etienne and A.J Dillon. If he cannot wrestle meaningful touches away from Hubbard and solidify himself as the backup or 1B in this offense...

It’s hard to deny that Fernando Mendoza has had an absolutely incredible 2025 season with Indiana. The 2025 Heisman Trophy winner led the Hoosiers to a perfect 15-0 record, a Big Ten title, and the national championship game, throwing for 3,349 yards, a nation-leading 41 touchdowns, and just 6 interceptions on 73% completion—possibly more with the National Championship coming up.
Regardless of the title game outcome, he's a lock for a high pick in the 2026 NFL Draft—he's the prototypical QB NFL teams crave: big (6'5"), accurate, smart, and a winner.
But is he an elite fantasy rookie in dynasty leagues? According to my QB Readiness Model, not quite. (The QB Readiness Model uses a player’s full career stats, it measures their ability to score touchdowns, protect the ball, and avoid sacks—critical skills for sustaining drives.)
Even with what looks like an elite final collegiate season, Mendoza falls short of the overall Readiness Score needed for a rookie QB to succeed right away without sitting and developing. He's in the same bucket as these four other first-round QBs who posted monster final years but came up short on readiness:
- Dwayne Haskins (Ohio State, 2019)
- Kenny Pickett (Pittsburgh, 2022)
- Mac Jones (Alabama, 2021)
- David Carr (Fresno State, 2002)
All four struggled significantly with their original teams and eventually moved on.
I loved what I saw from Mendoza this year—he's been phenomenal. But seeing him grouped with these names has me worried.
What do you think? Is Fernando Mendoza truly elite with franchise QB potential, or is he at risk of being another first-round bust?
