If the Republic of Turkey is a Caliphate it can't be a NATO member.
If the Republic of Ataturk is a modern secular government it cannot claim Beirut, Damascus, and Jerusalem as part of its Sultanate.
It's one or the other, it can't be both...
With our sympathy and friendship to the Turkish people.
The existence of Jew-hatred is quite straightforward. When we drift from our relationship with Hashem, our haters become His unwitting messengers, meant to nudge us back to our Father in Heaven. Our Holy Prophets foresaw this pattern.
This is why every attept to "fight" antisemitism, whether through advertisement, legislation, education, awareness campaigns, self-loathing, compromise, or denying our Jewish identity is doomed to backfire.
The Jewish people are not hated because we're wealthy, we're not hated because we're poor.
We're not hated because we're minorities, we're not hated because we're too numerous.
We aren’t hated for being strong, we aren’t hated for being pushovers.
We aren’t hated for blending in, we aren’t hated for standing apart.
We're not hated for being shifty, we're not hated for being unyielding.
We aren't hated for defending ourselves, we aren't hated for being vulnerable.
We aren’t hated for speaking up, we aren’t hated for keeping silent.
We aren’t hated for remembering our history, we aren’t hated for trying to move past it.
We aren’t hated for wandering, we aren't hated for settling.
We aren’t hated for our success, we aren’t hated for our suffering.
Want to counter Jew-hatred? BECOME A BETTER JEW! Embrace an authentic Jewish lifestyle. Strengthen your knowledge of Torah, increase your obserance of mitzvos and reinforce your connection to Hashem. This is the task before us. This is all we were ever asked to do.
Know this: We are meant to be a light unto the nations. Darkness thrives only when that light is dimmed. Can't handle the darkness? Crank up that light!
Good Shabbos.
