The Scottish Premiership was again the best supported League in Europe per capita in 2024-25.
It attracted the 7th highest overall top flight attendance & the 8th highest matchday attendance, despite 25 nations having a higher population.
Our numbers remain incredible. #SPFL 🏴
@rab_147@StaceyDevlinx I think that's why it would need to be O'Neill, I don't think he'd dance to their tune if he didn't genuinely believe it was honest and genuine.
@StaceyDevlinx Desmond did an interview ~20yrd ago & I'm paraphrasing here, but he said if he's in a room with 1000 people and they all tell him his idea is wrong, he'll still stick with it because he trusts himself more than everyone else combined, there'll be no modernisation until he's gone.
@StaceyDevlinx If Martin O'Neill isn't going to be the manager then he needs to become some kind of public figure that can communicate with the fans, someone they can trust, because even if Desmond/Nicholson/Wilson are being honest with fans, no-one will believe them, they just create tension.
@aboutceltic My concern would be, if MON only signed a one year deal, would Desmond have the hunger to back him, given last summer when Rosgers was in the same situation, they point blank refused to back him and almost paid the ultimate cost.
I know folk will be annoyed by this, and rightly so, it always feels like Celtic move at a snails pace, but I think this is a big indication O'Neill's been offered the job, and if he has, you wouldn't blame him for wanting 7-10 days to go away and think about it without pressure.
Talks between Dermot Desmond and Martin O'Neill on the Celtic job have been pushed back.

@FrankCastleMilk@FootballPaul82@jonnyholiday13 I totally agree, but if O'Neill has been Desmond's number one choice, then it stands to reason that he'd probably need a bit of time after the season to fully talk it over with his wife after a decent rest, it's no ideal but if he's their man, then it's a reasonable expectation.
@FrankCastleMilk@FootballPaul82@jonnyholiday13 There's a world of difference between thinking about the possibility of it in the middle of a tension filled title race, and actually giving it serious thought after you've finally had time to rest up, he'll need to see how he & his family feel after he's had that downtime, IMO.
@jonnyholiday13@TimMalloyHH@SJH1991 There's no such thing as a long-term Celtic manager now, IMO, they'll either be a success and move on after two years or they'll be a disaster and binned within the season, it's a 3 year cycle at the very most, but more than likely two.
@dannywgoodwin Mate, Scottish Football, we don't just know the referees names, up here we know their address, phone numbers, what their full time job is, what school they went to and what their families names are.
Positions of each club after every matchday.
• No winner spent fewer weeks off 1st than Celtic
• Hearts were top 2 every week
• Hibs were in Euro spot 35/38 weeks
• Aberdeen never finished a matchday in Euro spot
• Rangers spent more time in 3rd than any other position
@ItsAllOutFooty Aberdeen finished 2nd in the Scottish Premiership four years on the spin, twice ahead of Rangers, they'd been to three cup finals in the previous four years, and were in Europe every season, it would've been the honour of his life representing that football club, big dafty.
