They love to celebrate Jordan’s 63-point game against the Celtics—the same series in which he got swept. Jordan loses, and the story becomes that he was heroic.
LeBron drops 51 on a 73–9 Warriors team that added KD, puts together one of the greatest Finals performances ever, and somehow the narrative becomes that he quit on his team.
Funny how the standards change depending on whose name is on the jersey. 🤔
James Worthy on how the showtime Lakers would do in today’s game:
“The athlete today is a superior athlete. Okay. The approach, the stamina, the way they approach the game. But still for me I mean if I got to pick a point guard to start my team, I’m going Magic every time. And he could play today. He’s got pace. He’s got size. I’m not going to say we would dominate. A lot of people say, “Oh, we you know with Kareem and Magic we No, I don’t think we would dominate, but I think we could hold our own.”

Intentionally missing the point.
There's something to be said about being able to win with all these different pieces.
Same goes for different organizations, different conferences, different eras, different coaches etc.
Jordan could only do it one way!
Tim MacMahon says LeBron would also not win without Dwyane Wade, Kyrie Irving, and Anthony Davis in response to Rich Paul:
“If you unplug Dwyane Wade from the Miami Heat, LeBron doesn’t win titles there. If you unplug Kyrie from the Cavaliers, they don’t come back 3-1. If you unplug Anthony Davis from the bubble Lakers, they don’t win a championship.”
True but that's proof that bron can do it with different players and different styles and circumstances.
If 1 man is as consistent a variable in the championship equation as MJ was.... maybe he was just as necessary
Mike was an nba player... just like every other player!
MJ being made out to be everyone's basketball god adds layers to his legacy that he doesn't deserve.
"Every player in history would be happy to play behind Michael"
Cap! Stop with the boogieman narrative.
Rich Paul says Scottie Pippen was more impactful than MJ 👀
“I think Scottie’s rings are the same as Michael Jordan’s. He was the most impactful player on the team. If you unplug Scottie Pippen off that team, Jordan is 0-6”
