@traderadio It says to the rest of the competition…clubs need to get their act together or you will lose good players who are rightly deciding what’s best for themselves. Not some mythical and one way expectation of loyalty.
@grantcohn is there any truth to the rumour that the Montana State coach called timeout with 1 second to go while leading by 7 points just so he could play Warfie Time?
@Robert_Tinney Respectfully I disagree. I think it’s incumbent on clubs to create an environment where players want to come to, and want to stay, and where players will be happy. Unfortunately for us, Essendon hasn’t done that. Players are human, they shouldn’t be denied happiness or a career.
@CalTwomey@AFLcomau Probably a good example why players should be able to move more freely. Your career is in the hands of clubs that may not have their act together. Yes, some of it will be on him, but a good environment could have got more out of him. Hopefully not a career wasted.
@pablofindsout@PabloTorre@DavidPSamson@Foxworth24 Brilliant episode on the Cut of Ownership. This is EXACTLY what a debate show should be. Interesting topics, cleverly constructed arguments on both sides & the audience actually learning something. Thank you!!
@HeathLyons I agree with your opinion, this happens all the time. But it’s the motive that’s interesting. I think the leak was intentional to drive Hird away and make it look like it was his decision to not be part of the club, which then squashes all of the outside noise to get him back.
@FootyonNine Feels like a leak to frustrate Hird into rejecting coming back. That way the club will say we tried to bring Hird back but he didn’t want to.
@PabloTorre Despite all the hard work, sources, piecing together, public doubt & criticism for a year & getting through it all, I think the most impressive thing has been your patience & ability to lay it out methodically & strategically. I never could have had that discipline. Well done!!
@ScooterMcNeice One is a story because they can make people click to read it, the other won’t do that based on the club being less interesting and less popular. Also, the timing with finals on, the Adelaide coach, Sydney, trades and free agency coming up.
You’re right though, I agree with you.
@ScooterMcNeice Essendon played that really well. “We want him at the club, he brings value etc”. Now the onus is on James to heal the upset fans. Ball is in James’ court. Very clever from Welsh. Not a fan of the “good football person” comment though.
@DavidZita1@FOXFOOTY Looks like Dillon is tense from a pretty ordinary week with what’s going on & made the mistake of not getting context on the comments before replying. The result is a clip at player & club rather than a straight bat answer normally expected. He’s human, not perfect. It’s ok.
@rtralphy They’re in the entertainment business. Put a good product on the field, you’ll get money & attention. If not, there are plenty of other sports options competing for our attention, viewership, and money. Why keep paying to eat at a restaurant where the food is always bad?
@soota86 Hey may or may not be good, who knows until later on. But I feel he’s the least interesting appointment out of the 4. Graham was the hot shot assistant. Hird was the hope. Davis had a Fagan like feel to it. Spike…not sure…seems vanilla. Wish him all the best though.
