Love this. AI is only as good as the tests it takes, and for years, the industry has judged global speech AI using outdated, English-only standards.

Old tests like Word Error Rate (WER) expect perfect, scripted English from a single speaker. But in the real world especially in places like India, LATAM, and Vietnam, people mix languages, talk over each other, and use local slang.

The old benchmarks just mark normal human conversation as an error which shouldn’t be.

Humyn Labs launching BRIDGE is a massive reality check. By measuring how 5.5 billion people actually speak, they are forcing AI developers to stop ignoring the Global South.

If we want AI to serve the whole world, we can't force the world to speak like a textbook. Real global tech needs real-world tests like this to actually work.
