Haven't logged on for a hot while... it is now Summer 22 and I am doing some summer online PD...Making this tweet as proof that I have a #eduTwitter to follow my site & district 🤪👍🏽
What a moment to be able to share with my students today. Thank you for the student friendly showing Keke Palmer & Biden Inaugural Committee #Inauguration2021
Shoutout to all of you educators having to care for kids/ loved ones during this time. I don’t have those responsibilities and some days I too can feel really depleted. Yesterday was one of those days. Prepping but also resting up this weekend. #teacherlife
I am sick of having to choose between meeting district obligations and spending time with my daughter. The entire system survives on unpaid overtime.

Highlight: We’re doing a quick personal essay, so we started the week with show&tell. Got the feels in my heart for the vulnerability shared. The few that shared let us learn about their culture, mental health, family, or passions from the object they brought. I appreciate them 😌
My highlight of the week: Reading Scythe out loud to my students just because and having one go and buy the book because he was that interested, students asking where they can get it, and others wanting to know if winning a book can be part of our class raffles. #MyTeacherWin
Today is the first day of work officially (without the kids). Hello all day meetings for the next few days. Iced coffee helping me this morning in my "office" aka the dining room area. This is going to be a unique year but I am hopeful🤪#distancelearning
A must read if you teach historical events that effect Black & POC groups. End curriculum violence by being aware of how we teach these historical events. I can’t believe there are teachers out there who did some of the exercises mentioned in the article; I was shocked.
I want to add an academic resource to my reading. Please consider this reading as an additional processing tool, if you haven't seen it. This ain't level 1 reading, so it's for all of us.

Good morning, folks. Just like those men decided to practice their White supremacy openly out in these streets, it happens in the classroom. Today's my turn, with #31DaysIBPOC so here goes: "What I Remember"

A group of my kiddos won the Soundtrap Winter Challenge with their Reader's Theater horror story recordings from October and it is indeed a happy teacher moment for me and I can't wait to tell them when we come back from break.🥳 #Soundtrap#techintheclassroom#engagingstudnets
but when encouragement is sent back our way from students, whether it's your 2nd year (like me) or your 15th year, I believe it is affirmation and a reassurance about our WHY. Thankful this weekend knowing that I have made an impact and continue to impact the lives of my students
Yesterday though I was reminded about why I love what I do: A student from last yr got in touch with me via email two weeks ago to share her high school ups/downs and I had emailed her back with encouragement. Yesterday afternoon I received more news
It's crazy because as a teacher, we are constantly offering up praise, advice, and making a lot of small decisions on how to respond positively back to our kids so it can be mentally and/or emotionally straining,
