@daverichard Dave, I’ve got Goff on bye with Lawrence as my backup. I have Nabers and Likely. Im considering picking up Winston for the trifecta for the weekend or Rodgers for a safer floor than Trevor, given oline injuries. Currently favored by 18 but I’m 0-5 and have to win. Thoughts?
Luke 2:21.
Eight days old.
Circumcised according to the law.
And His name was called JESUS.
Not suggested.
Not voted on.
Commanded.
The world has spent 2,000 years trying to bury that name.
They struck it from schools.
Banned it from courts.
Softened it to “higher power” in the churches.
And you wonder why the West is on fire…
In Genesis — He’s the seed of the woman.
In Exodus — the Passover Lamb.
In Leviticus — the Atoning Sacrifice.
In Numbers — the serpent lifted up in the wilderness.
In Ruth — the Kinsman Redeemer.
In Job — the Living Personal Redeemer.
In Psalms — the Praise of His people.
In Isaiah — the Suffering Servant.
In Daniel — the Fourth Man in the furnace.
In Jonah — the Resurrected One.
In Malachi — the Sun of Righteousness.
In Matthew — the Promised Messiah.
In Mark — the Powerful Messiah.
In Luke — the Friend of Sinners.
In John — the Son of God who is also God.
In Acts — the Ascended Lord.
In Romans — the believer’s Righteousness.
In Hebrews — our Great High Priest.
In Revelation — the King of kings and Lord of lords.
Sixty-six books.
Forty authors.
Fifteen hundred years.
One name.
JESUS.
His name is above every name.
At His name, every knee bows.
In His name, demons flee.
In His name, the lame walk.
In His name, sins are forgiven.
In His name, the dead rise.
No other name under heaven by which we can be saved.
The name of Jesus literally means “YHWH Saves.”
He was given that name because He will save people from their sins.
Not might.
Will.
His name is the Word.
His name is Son of God.
His name is Son of Man.
His name is Lamb of God.
His name is the great I AM.
His name is Alpha and Omega.
His name is Wonderful.
Counsellor.
Mighty God.
Everlasting Father.
Prince of Peace.
You want power?
It’s not in your plans.
You want peace?
It’s not in your circumstances.
You want salvation?
It’s not in your effort.
It’s in the name.
Say it out loud right now.
JESUS.
Let your walls hear it.
Let your demons hear it.
Let your children hear it.
The name before time began.
The name after everything burns.
The name that will be on every tongue willingly or unwillingly — when He returns.
JESUS.
Drop His name in the replies.
One word.
Flood this post with the only name that saves.
JESUS.
The Bible Reading Order That Actually Changes You
Most Christians read the Bible randomly and wonder why they're not growing.
Here's the battle-tested reading plan that builds warriors, not wanderers:
Phase 1: Learn How to Fight
Start with 1 Peter. It'll teach you what suffering as a Christian actually means. It'll kill your selfish ambition and show you why following God for personal gain is spiritual suicide.
Then hit these in order:
1 & 2 Corinthians (church mess and how to fix it)
Ephesians (spiritual warfare manual)
Philippians (joy in prison)
1 & 2 Thessalonians (end times reality check)
1 & 2 Timothy (leadership under fire)
James (faith that actually works)
2 Peter, 1-3 John, Jude (false teachers exposed)
These books don't just tell you stories. They teach you:
How to BE a Christian, not just play one
Who God actually is vs. who you think He is
What He'll do for you (and what He won't)
His promises that never fail
His personality that terrifies demons
Phase 2: Learn How to Worship
Psalms. All of it.
This is where you learn God's emotional range. His fury. His tenderness. His jealousy. His love. This is where you learn to pray like you're in a war zone, because you are.
Phase 3: Learn How to Conquer
Joshua and Judges.
Watch what happens when God's people obey.
Watch what happens when they don't.
Watch how quickly victory becomes defeat when you forget who's really in charge.
This isn't a reading plan for information.
It's a training manual for transformation.
Most "Bible reading plans" are designed to make you feel accomplished.
This one is designed to make you dangerous.
Stop reading Scripture like it's homework.
Start reading it like it's intel for tomorrow's battle.
Your enemy reads it too.
The difference is, he believes it.
Time you did the same.
@daverichard are you updating your tiers put out on 8/14 based on injuries and preseason performance? I usually see something that says “edited” and then a date, but am not seeing that this year. Thanks!!
@Queen_9_0 Throw away your trash. It’s your trash, not theirs. It’s not like you have dishwater or silverware that a bus boy would gather at a real restaurant. All of it is trash. The man is correct, this is lazy or at least ignorant.
And now... the rest of the story.
Every year, families across America gather around the television.
They watch a bald kid try to kick a football. A beagle dance on a dog house. Charlie Brown get a rock instead of candy.
They laugh.
They don't know they're watching a man's autobiography.
When Charles Schulz was a boy, the other children called him Sparky. The name of a horse in a comic strip. A joke horse.
He failed every single subject in eighth grade.
Not one or two.
Every. Single. Subject.
But the grades weren't the worst part.
Paul Harvey told this story, and his voice cracked on this line:
"Sparky wasn't actually disliked by the other youngsters. No one cared enough about him to dislike him."
He wasn't hated. He was nothing.
The one thing he had was his drawings. He submitted cartoons to the school yearbook.
Rejected.
He wrote to Walt Disney. Poured everything into the drawings.
The reply was a form letter. Disney only hired the very finest artists. Sparky was not among the very finest.
Harvey paused there. Then: "I think deep down, Sparky expected to be rejected."
This is where the motivational speakers lie to you.
The rest of the story isn't about winning.
Sparky didn't try to prove them wrong. He wrote his autobiography in cartoons.
He drew himself. The loser. The kid who failed everything.
He named him after himself.
Charlie Brown.
You know what Charlie Brown never does?
Win.
His kite crashes. Lucy pulls the football. The Little Red-Haired Girl doesn't notice him.
And sixty years later, we still watch.
Not because Charlie Brown succeeds.
Because Charlie Brown keeps showing up.
Here's the part even Paul Harvey didn't tell.
Schulz taught Sunday school. He read the Bible so constantly his strips are filled with scripture.
When network executives tried to cut Linus reciting Luke 2 from the Christmas special, Schulz refused.
Either the Gospel stays, or there's no special.
It stayed.
A boy called a horse.
A student who failed everything.
An artist Disney rejected.
Planted the Gospel of Luke in front of sixty million homes.
The loser became the messenger.
God has a history of using the rejected ones.
Moses had a stutter. David was the forgotten son. Peter denied Him three times.
The kite never flew.
But the Gospel did.
Still falling?
Good company, brother.
Get up.
He's not done with you yet.
Even now, after that, they won’t allow me to hire an outside vendor. I MUST give their vendor more chances. Well @AHS_Warranty, how many days must my children and pets suffer before you start looking after your insureds and just let me hire someone who can fix our minor issue?
@AHS_Warranty absolutely have had the worst experience of my life dealing with American Home Shield and their vendors. My AC went out Thursday evening. First thing, Friday I filed a claim. We are in Florida. AHS says their vendors don’t support weekend calls, when most all
HVAC companies work weekends. They even denied my request to authorize an outside vendor. So Monday finally rolls around while my house has climbed to 90 degrees and their 1.7⭐️ vendor they selected for me didn’t bother showing up in the agreed upon window.
@allenw111@TheEXECUTlONER_ That’s also true. Let’s say the run scored but the runner was thrown out at first, I wouldn’t think the score would have counted bc they recorded the force out at first.
@TheEXECUTlONER_@NancyH_60@ElitesPlatinum Yeah if the runner ran to first and made it safe and still the runner at third got out, let’s say in a pickle, this wouldn’t be a question. He shouldn’t be up here again. The next batter should.
It’s still in decent condition but it was like “new” before. I also have a Hopper M20. Anything you can do to help repair/replace his? Thanks in advance!!
@YETICoolers so 4th of July, my golf cart was overloaded but my neighbor was having to bike back but asked if I could take his Hopper M20 pack with me. I agreed but, despite it being clipped on, my niece accidentally kicked it off and it dragged for 15 ft while I tried to stop.
