My 12 year son wore a keffiya around his head to school a few days ago, he was supposed to wear it along with a couple of his Palestinian friends. I texted him to check in with him around lunch time, he said the other two boys bailed on the plan but he kept it on. It made me really proud that he went ahead with it despite being from an Indian background. I asked what the reactions were with the kids at school, he said, "Baba you won't believe it, so many kids see it and are yelling "Free Palestine!" from across the hallways, everyone loves it.". Some of the teachers were a bit snippy about it though. Alhamdulillah the rest of the day went without incident.
