I woke up this morning & reminded myself that I am blessed today!
It’s so easy to get caught up in all the scenarios of life in this world we are living in, but don’t lose sight that we are in this world but not of this world.
Walk by faith not by sight! #WinYourDay
When you are looking out the window of the Charles S. “Sherry” MacKenzie Visiting Faculty Room at @rtsorlando, one of the things you see is the Sam Patterson quote that started @ReformTheoSem. “How big is your God?”
If we allow our thoughts to be toxic, that negativity will overflow into our words, our actions, and especially our reactions. Proverbs 23:7 reminds us, “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he."
A good reminder for us to check what we’re allowing to run through our minds today.
Mariupol. Direct strike of Russian troops at the maternity hospital. People, children are under the wreckage. Atrocity! How much longer will the world be an accomplice ignoring terror? Close the sky right now! Stop the killings! You have power but you seem to be losing humanity.
Often we seem to find our identity in our school colors, a brand of tennis shoes, a style of clothes. Things we wear to say “this is who I am.” In reality, our identification is in Christ. “As He is, so are we, in this world.”
Foreigners shouldn’t be voting in American elections.
You prove your loyalty to our country by becoming a citizen. Then you vote.
How is this even up for debate?
The plum line for how we think, speak, relate, vote, engage, respond, give, serve, post, love & forgive is not a politician, a King, or a political party. It’s the Word of God. True in 2022. Be that one who stands on the Word.
Three marks of Christian maturity from 2 Corinthians 10:1-6: We are eager to be gentle but ready to be bold (1-2). We walk in the flesh but not according to the flesh (3). We desire peace but engage in war (4-6).
I don’t need to rally more of my own strength... but instead learn more and more how to rely on the Lord’s strength.
Maybe you need this reminder, too.
“But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’” 2 Corinthians 12:9a
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 4:6-7
