But, in all partnerships, someone has final authority and someone submits. This is true in all relationships whether you believe it or not.

But if you read other portions of the New Testament especially, you will find that the Bible actually holds women in high regard. Hell, read Proverbs 31; the wife is held in very high regard.

While I get your point, the Bible does still point to equal agency for all. But in the family, the man is called to lead. You will find that there are a lot of Christian men who aren't comfortable with this, but recognize that someone has to lead the house.

Yes, it is a partnership, but even in partnerships, someone has to make the final call. Look at founders of companies, one person is almost always the founder, and everyone else is a co-founder. Someone, even in the partnership, still leads the team.

You may object and point to the New Testament verses on slavery. In that context in which it was written, it was about servants, which the word slaves was used. Again, context matters.

Someone at the end of the day leads in the family unit. While that role is given to men, women still a major role in the family.
