The Department of Agriculture, Livestock & Fisheries Development, through the Drought Resilience Project in Northern Kenya,has handed over the site for construction of roof water catchment systems and masonry tanks at Illeret Health Centre & Illeret Primary School, Illeret Ward.
The Department of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries Development, through DRPNK, has completed and handed over the Churle borehole, water reticulation and associated works project in Loiyangalani Ward, Marsabit County.
The handover ceremony was attended by the County Executive Committee Member for Agriculture Hon. Adan Kanano, Chief Officer Madam Orge Bajji, MCA for Loiyangalani Ward Hon. Daniel Emojo, DRPNK County Coordinator Mr. Patrick Nthenge, staff and the ISC Engineer.
These interventions are set to improve water availability, enhance community sanitation, and reinforce climate resilience for residents of Sagante Jaldesa Ward.(4/4)
The joint delegation from the Department of Agriculture, KfW Development Bank Mission, the State Department of Irrigation and the National Treasury also visited the Dub Goba Borehole in Sagante Jaldesa Ward, where drilling and equipping have already been completed.(1/4)

This will greatly improve access to safe and reliable water for learners and staff, supporting a healthier school environment and uninterrupted learning. Enhanced rainwater harvesting and storage capacity will also reduce water scarcity challenges, lower operational costs.
The joint delegation from the Department of Agriculture, KfW Development Bank Mission, the State Department of Irrigation and the National Treasury later visited Jaldesa Primary School to assess ongoing water infrastructure interventions at the institution.
At the school,the team reviewed the completed water reticulation works, a 150,000-litre masonry storage tank, & the installation of 430 mtrs of gutters designed to enhance rainwater harvesting and improve water storage capacity, piping to the school kitchen and 3 watering points.
The team inspected the completed water reticulation works, a newly constructed 100,000-litre masonry storage tank,rehabilitation of the existing tank,installation of livestock water troughs,establishment of a community water kiosk,& solar panel installations powering the systems.
The joint delegation from the Department of Agriculture, KfW Development Bank Mission, the State Department of Irrigation, and the National Treasury conducted a field visit to Hula Hula to assess ongoing water infrastructure interventions in the area.
