A brief look at real deposits, using the latest Idea Bank advertisement as an example:

Subtract bank commission — 2–3% of the deposit.

Taxes — over 20% on accrued interest.

When withdrawing funds — possible account freezing.

Guarantees: As long as the bank is in favor with the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU), it gets support. Once it’s not — you join the long queue at the Deposit Guarantee Fund. The wait can take years, and you’ll only get back a portion.
