If you are using group 14 burndown herbicides (Sharpen, Valor, Spartan) for winter annual burndown this video outlines optimizing those applications. #spray20 @WinFieldUnited
One other follow-up from a video I posted in early July discussing arrested ear and adjuvant selection with fungicide applications. Picture is from that plot we sprayed, showing surfactant with NPE can cause arrested ear, while MasterLock does not.
Corn field on the left was sprayed when weeds were 2” tall. Corn on right sprayed at 10”. Pulled an ear from both sides. I will let the ears do the talking.. #readthelabel#spray20#weedbank21
@Agronomist24_7 For sure! I’ve done a variation of this demo for a couple years, and the ear leaf is pretty consistent around 1/3 of overall yield for the plant.
Following up on my leaf removal video from earlier this summer. I pulled ears and did some quick yield checks. The ear leaf alone had a dramatic impact on yield. Also, the fungicide application showed it doesn't take much to impact yield - just a few extra kernels per row.
